Here's what you need to know this week:

Occasionally, when we have exceptional champions for working people who meet certain criteria, our council or the Florida AFL-CIO will make an early endorsement. In this case, we're proud to announce that the Florida AFL-CIO, and subsequently our CLC, has endorsed State Representatives Fentrice Driskell (HD 63) and Jennifer Webb (HD 69) for reelection in 2020! The primary isn't until August 18th of next year, but we wanted to solidify our support for these two leaders in the fight for Florida's working people. See the graphic below for contribution information:

Here's what's coming up:

- On Wednesday (10/30), our Florida Future Labor Leaders (FFLL) chapter will hold their October General Meeting at 6:30PM at the SEIU office in St Petersburg (1202 66th St North). This is the official voice for young union members in our Central Labor Council and the FL AFL-CIO, and all young workers are invited to attend.

Keep in Mind:

It's that time of the year again. Committee weeks in Tallahassee are already starting, and we're going to need all hands on deck for the Working Families Lobby Corps (WFLC). For those not in on the loop WFLC makes sure that while our elected officials are in the halls of the capitol, we have union members holding them accountable. We're hoping that ALL locals will send someone to participate this year, as we're already hearing talk of attacks on policies we've passed at the local level. All attendees will receive breakfast, training, and daily updates for the week that they spend there. For more information on WFLC, including the sign-up and sponsorship forms, CLICK HERE!

That's all for this week! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more updates. If you would like to receive text message alerts from the Florida AFL-CIO (Msg & data rates may apply), text FLUNION to 235246!

In Solidarity,
